Don't worry, Belle isn't done for, yet. But you can expect new Anne chapters -- fourteen in all -- while she holds the audience in suspense.

Long Anne, Chapter 1Anne Longford sat on the edge of London Bridge, rolled up her sleeves, and drew her knees up to her chest. The sun was setting, and it shed a rippling, yellow light across the Thames. To Anne, it looked like it was drowning. A drowning sun that bled gold.Long Anne, Chapter 1
This was her favorite spot. There were no customers yelling at her, no smoke in her eyes, and no thoughts but her own. But the real reason she went here was to see the great merchant ships, the ones from the New World. They lay before her on the river now, five or six abreast, scattering the sparkling water with their bulk. In between, she could make out the smaller craft, the

MWWA: Recruitment EffortsThe man in the gray business suit stopped on the street corner outside the door and checked his watch. Nine o'clock on a Friday night. The man in the gray business suit sucked his teeth. He had hoped to get in, get his business done, and get out before happy hour. He'd just have hope for the best and pray that his target was still sober. It was a gamble, but he couldn't reschedule; the man in the gray business suit had a timetable to meet, and the price of straying from it was too steep for his liking.MWWA: Recruitment Efforts
He stepped back, straightened the lines of his suit, and glanced up. Above the door, the name of the establishment was engraved

Gum Belle, Episode XVIRicketts turned his head. Sal Jenkins stood at his back, a big, bat-shaped shadow in the Skulls unnatural gloom, a Thompson submachine gun rock-heavy and stock-still in his hands.Gum Belle, Episode XVI
Get up. Slow. Hands high.
Ricketts did so. He didnt have much choice: Jenkins knew him too well to risk trying anything. He smiled, ignoring the pain in his rent cheek. I should have known youd be waiting for me outside. Stood against the wall between the two windows, right?
Yup. Had to leave the other window unlatched. Was afraid youd pick it and get wise.

If it's no trouble, could you put Long Anne up here? I wanted to recommend it to my freinds without telling them to go to RRR (apprehension to join due to not wanting to sign up for anything, regardless of what it is), or burning it to CD.
Great stuff, man.

It'll take some time, though: reformatting for DA is just a bear, and I will probably have to work up some manner of header. Just bear with my sloth, and I'll stick 'em up eventually.
The sloth will be dealt with, take your time.

Finally, the overarching plot just felt wrong to me, and it kept right on feeling wrong the longer I worked on it. This may not be readily apparent, because I never quite got to said flaws in the completed chapters. But trust me, they were there, and they would have shown up, big time.
By contrast, I believe that Belle is a stronger story, even if its characters are not quite as complex. The plot is simpler, I know where I'm going, and I'm not trying to tell a huge, multi-volume epic. And I'm not trying to adapt an American voice to a British style. Seriously, sometimes, I felt like I was writing on eggshells.
But I'll go ahead and post them, anyway. Like I said, I love Anne and company very much. Maybe I'm being to harsh on their story as it stands. *Shrug*
